SAMPLES: Jess+Damien Wedding

Sorry ya'll, again, I have been a bad blogger. I am going to fix that with this barrage of new posts from my last few weddings.

Jessenia and Damien were yet another couple whose wedding day was "influenced" by the unpredictable weather of Florida. Their outside Portofino Hotel wedding was turned into an inside Portofino Hotel wedding but no worries for this fun, happy couple. They made the most of things and nothing could dampen their spirits, especially with a fantastic reception room designed by Laurie Portella of Bliss Weddings and Events.

SAMPLES: Russia Trip

St. Petersburg, Russia is a fantastic city. I recently traveled there with my wife to photograph Team USA's journey to the Martial Arts Olympics. These are a few sites we saw. If you want to see more, including some shots of the competition, go to http://www.kickshots.com which, for the time being, is all Russia, all the time :)

Us in Peter & Paul's Fortress. We got to go in the Cathedral and see the 2nd of two Russian Orthodox services we'd seen that day. Awe inspiring for sure!

Romantic stroll on the "Spit" across the bridge, near the fortress.

Yes, they have weddings in St. Petersburg... LOTS of them. We saw no less than 10 weddings either taking place here on Saturday or just gathering for photos. More limos were arriving as we left! Some of the dresses were utterly stunning.

St. Issac Cathedral

Nerissa (Wife) just standing in a really cool place :)
Church of our Savior on the Blood. I have never been more impressed by a building.

View of some of the skyline of St. Petersburg. The Admiralty (gold spire) and St. Issac (gold dome) are visible in the background.

Another wedding. Different place.

Inside St. Issac's Cathedral.
I had the camera turned on me... what to do... of course, shoot back!

Inside the Hermitage State Museum, one of the world's largest museums.

The Palace Square and Alexander Column. The Hermitage is in the background.

The Bronze Horseman (of Peter). This is St. Petersburg's Statue of Liberty. Must see.

St. Petersburg boasts more bridges than any city in the world. Dunno if that's true but there are tons of cool little canals.

NEWS: From Russia with Love

As some of you may know, I was in Russia the past week or so covering Team USA's bid for the gold in the Martial Arts Olympics held in St. Petersburg. This was an extremely last minute thing (like we flew to JFK not knowing if we had a flight to St. Petersburg, Russia) but in the end, it all worked out and it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I don't do much sports anymore but this was a job that was born of continuing relationship with the martial arts community. MANY pictures to come.

What this means to you is that I am now a bit behind on my wedding work. If you have anything that you need quickly, please, let me know and I will do all I can to honor those requests. Otherwise, your understanding of the situation would be greatly appreciated. I am working double time to get caught up. I hope nobody is unduly inconvenienced by this.

NEWS: Best of 2008!

Wow, I got an email from the fine folks at The Knot Magazine last week that totally caught me by surprise. Through no effort of mine (other than trying to do the best I can for my clients) I was named as one of the Knot's "Best of 2008". This is an award given to the vendors receiving the highest praise and ratings by "Knotties" (brides who the Knot.com or read The Knot Magazine) surveyed about their wedding experience and asked to rate their vendors. I am truly humbled by this award and my heartfelt thanks goes out to any of my wonderful past brides/couples who participated in this survey and obviously valued my work enough to say great things about me :) Thanks to you, I received a 3 star rating, the highest you can get.

This means so much to me mainly because it affirms that I am giving the kind of service and delivering the quality of images that my clients all deserve!
Thank you,
Robert

SAMPLES: Christina & Mark's Disney Wedding (sorta)

When I got an email from Christina requesting information I was very interested to find out that she was trying to book from England. Her and her husband Mark wanted me to photograph their post wedding bliss at the Grand Floridian. They were to be married at a small church wedding (complete to Christina walking to a classic Ramones tune) by the time I arrived and I was just to capture their reception dinner and get some portraits on the way to the grand finale aboard the Grand 1 yacht to see the Disney fireworks. While the boat trip (which was a surprise to all but the bride, groom and their son) was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening, the moonlight and sunset on the lagoon beach proved to be photographic magic worthy of any Disney production.

P.S. Here's to brides NOT covering up their tattoos. Sorry mom :)
