NEWS: Thanks TWIP!


The guys at the popular photography podcast This Week in Photography (TWIP - http://www.twipphoto.com) recognized my image "Red Bed" as runner up in their weekly contest. Of course, I cheated a bit because this shot is well over a decade old (they ask that you shoot for the contest specifically) and in the end that's why it failed to win according to the judges. In any event, they had some great things to say about the shot on the podcast and I appreciate all the kind words I received from listeners to the podcast and readers of the blog.

SAMPLES: Blanchie+David Wedding

This was one of the stranger bookings (just because of HOW they booked, not the wedding itself) and as it turns out, better stories I have dealt with yet. David booked the entire wedding sight unseen through Laurie Portella (lots of her these days :) and it's one of the first time I know of a groom planning just about the entire wedding. Romantic to be sure, right up until the surprise Hawaiian dance troupe at the end. Nice.











SAMPLES: Christina+Chuck Wedding

No pressure doing one of your best referrers' best friend's wedding (get all that?). Laurie Portella, who has been mentioned several times on this blog as one of the planners I work with a lot, recommended me to her best friend Christina... knowing full well I would get some great blackmail shots since she was the maid of honor!

Christina and Chuck could not have been easier to work with and in the end, I think we got some amazing images both from their e-shoot and wedding. They got married at Casa Feliz in Winter Park, one of my favorite venues. The highlight of the day was the worlds largest sparklers Christina & Chuck made their exit through. Though I think there were a few near burnings, all went well and all the fire made for a grand exit!
